ABSTRACT
Se propone un Centro
Socio-Cultural de Ancón. Este distrito se encuentra dividido en dos partes que
no tienen una articulación adecuada, el balneario y el distrito. El balneario
carece de actividades en los meses de otoño, invierno y primavera. Por otro lado,
el distrito no tiene suficientes espacios culturales. El terreno es estratégico
ya que se ubica en el punto de articulación entre ambas partes, y cerca de
otras actividades importantes, lo que permitirá consolidar un foco cultural,
social y turístico. El proyecto plantea unificar y re-articular el distrito,
reactivar el malecón, y revivir la esencia musical de la Comunidad Anconera.
Por otra parte, la arquitectura a proyectar propone un diseño articulador en
dos escalas. Una escala urbana que permita unificar ambas partes a través de
espacios públicos de encuentro y actividades programáticas. Y una escala
arquitectónica, que trabaje la articulación entre las distintas actividades a
través de conexiones espaciales y visuales.

This thesis
proposes a Sociocultural Center situated in the community of Ancón, in Lima,
Perú. Ancón is divided into two parts: it´s coastal area and it´s district,
which both suffer from bad urban articulation between one another. On one hand,
around fall, winter and spring, the pier lacks cultural and social activities.
On the other hand, the district doesn´t have enough public institutions for
cultural experiences. The land for the project is ideal because of it´s
strategic location. It is situated between both main parts of Ancon and
surrounded by other important areas. This easily creates a social, cultural and
touristic center. The Project aims to unify the district and the coastal area,
while also reactivating the pier and bringing back to life the musical essence
of the community that was once recognized for it´s Ancon´s Song Festival. To
focus on the architectural aspect, the design concentrates on working in two
scales of articulation. The first one, a macro scale, proposes to unify both
parts with public spaces and organized activities. The second scale is a more
micro architectural view. It aims to work on the visual and spatial aspects of
the different activities being experienced throughout the center.
